Hello Friends and Family,
So we have been teaching an older couple this week, la
familia Santa Cruz Mirez. The first time I spoke with them, they were super
ticked that the old elder had left. They were not a big fan of white people
either haha. They were really rude and kept asking when the other latino elder
was coming back. It started to make me frustrated until their son walked in. It
just so happens to be that I knew him really well. He is from Tuman, my old
area. We got along great and his eyes lit up when he saw me. We started talking
right away. This definitely softened the hearts of this familia. Ever since
then, they have been a lot more accepting and nice. I know that God
provides a way for each one of his servants. Right now, we are working with
them to get married. They have some problems with their papers, but once we get
that figured out they will be baptized. They told us that they could already
feel a difference in their lives. Other than that I have been doing the usual.
Not allowing the members to give a priesthood blessing (with oil) to a cat, and
letting members know that it wasn't ok to do their own sacrament without proper
priesthood authority or permission from their leaders.
Gotta love Peru.
Love, Elder Goold
p.s: Sorry for no pictures. Peru and Internet just don't
match to well and I 'm afraid if I get out my camera in this place I will be
robbed. I have some sweet pictures of my comp and I with a llama. I will
send them to you in a later.
