Hello Friends and Family,
This week was super busy with lots of things going on. It was super sad
to leave Villa Hermosa and all of our investigators. I hope I will be able to
see them again before I leave the mission. My new companion is from Meridian
Idaho. He lives 5 minutes from Elder Waddell, my trainer. He is the district
leader, and his name is Elder Jones. I am truly blessed to have him as a
companion. He is super obedient and is really spiritual, but he is not a robot
missionary. I know I can learn so many things from him and I'm definitely going
to take advantage of these changes we will have together. Our new area is
Emperio in La Victoria. Our room reminds me of our South Dakota hunting trip
hotel room. I love it. Elder Jones and I both got here at the same time. This area
has been closed for a change. We got here with no phone, no area book or
anything. We don't know any members, investigators or anyone. This week was
spent trying to find members to help us. We came here at a really difficult
time because this sunday was conference and the next sunday is the election day
for Peru, so we will not have church. It will be a little while until we can
see and meet with our ward. Conference was absolutely amazing. We missed most
of Sunday morning session due to a weak signal, gotta love Peru. I still was
able to feel the spirit so strong the other sessions. I made a promise with
myself to always watch each session of general conference for my entire life.
Conference really is modern day scripture. Our pension’s family is really nice.
She is a less active and her husband is not a member so we have lots of work to
do. They are from Chile and love soccer. It’s super fun to trash talk with
Pedro (the husband) about soccer. He also happens to be a chef and his food is
super good. On the bright side, this week we did find one investigator, Ernan
who accepted a baptismal invitation. Love you all, and study the conference
talks. I know that the apostles and the prophet are men called of God to lead
us in these latter days.
Love,
Elder Goold
