Hello Family and Friends,
This week we took a trip to Jaen for zone conference. We
focused on the importance of using scriptures in the lessons. We also talked
about the importance of having members present in the lessons. This week, I
have been trying so hard to help this branch. Sometimes, I feel like the branch
president because the branch president frequently can't attend church. Church
attendance has been super low (about 10 people in Sacrament meeting on Sundays) and
there isn't much unity in the branch either. We sat down Sunday with the few
church leaders to make some plans and goals how we can progress as a branch. We
finally got a mission leader who is going to help us out. I set up and led a
branch counsel Sunday because I really want to help this branch feel more
excited about church and especially missionary work. God helped us so much
because the counsel was a success. We are planning meaningful activities to
help members and investigators have real spiritual experiences. I know we will
be able to start moving in the right direction. This week has been exhausting
but God always gives me the strength to carry on in his work. I love president
Hinkley’s quote "And yet I am still optimistic."
Funny story for the week: I was kneeling down blessing the
sacrament when I was licked on the face by my furry, friend Max. After sacrament ended, I picked the dog up and put him
outside. To my surprise, he followed me right back into our small church house.
The members of the branch got a good laugh.
